Today, October 1st 2001, is the National Day of the People’s Republic of China. National Day also happens to mark the start of one of the two Golden Weeks in China. Golden Weeks are intended to increase the tourism market, thus allowing people to make long-distance visits to their family. Currently, over 120 million Chinese travel to China during Golden Week.
However, if you are unlucky enough to be stuck at home during the festivities, at least you can rest safe in the knowledge that Buzport allow you to make extremely cheap calls to China. This is a time to be with family, and if you unfortunately cannot be there in person, why not spend some time over the next week speaking with family and friends in China.
Due to our low calling rates you can call China from a telephone device of your choice, without having to worry about the expense. In fact, you can speak for as long or as often as you wish during National Day and Golden Week, as calls are no more than a few pennies a minute.
National Day will be celebrated throughout mainland China, as well as Hong Kong, and Macau. There will be various government-organized festivities, such as concerts, national foods, and fireworks. Tiananmen Square in Beijing will typically be decorated with portraits of many of China’s great leaders, including Mao Zedong.
There have been many controversies in recent times over “Golden Weeks”, as everyone receives three days of paid holidays, and the weekends are re-arranged so workers can have a full week of holidays. However, this obviously has a disruptive influence on China’s economy.
So, celebrate with your friends and family in China while you still can. Buzport can help you be a little closer to the ones you love at this time of year with cheap calls to China, even if you can’t visit the Far East for yourself.
