Buzport calls with SMS

Buzport service is created with simplicity in mind. The most convenient and feature-rich way is to use an applet installed on a smartphone. We have also taken care of those who do not have a smartphone of do not want to bother with additional software installation and setup. Users can request calls by simply sending SMS messages.

Start a call by sending a text message

Important! A valid Buzport account is required to make any call including calls invoked with a text message.

To start a call simply send a text message to Buzport sms-center: +447624803813

A message has to be sent from a phone that is listed in your account at My Phones and marked “Active”.

Depending on situation you can use one of the two message formats:

1. [Destination Number]
2. [Destination Number]*[Own Number]

Where:

“Own Number” is phone number of the phone you call from. It has to be entered in your Buzport account at My Phones. It is NOT necessarily a number of a mobile phone you send an sms from.

“Destination Number” is a phone number that you wish to be connected to. It can be any valid number in an international format.

Valid international format: it is important to strictly follow this rule to get a call connected. A number should be entered as a simple row of digits, no brackets, delimiters or special signs.

[country code][area code][number]

IMPORTANT! A number should be started with a country code, no leading zeros or other long distance access prefixes. For example:

a UK number: 449993334444
a US number: 15551112222
a number in Egypt: 209992223333
a number in Kuwait: 9659992223333
a number in Brazil: 559992223333
a number in Russia: 79991112222

Examples of text messages:

1.  Simple case. You need to make a call from a mobile phone +441112223333 to number +615551112222.
Solution: Your phone +441112223333 has to be registered in your Buzport account and your device should be able to send text messages. To start a call simply send a message:

615551112222

to Buzport SMS-center +447624803813
In few seconds your mobile phone will start ringing, answer a call and wait for you destination to answer, enjoy the conversation. To end a call just hang up as usual.

2. More complex case. Your mobile number is +441112223333, for some reason you want to have a conversation from a landline +445556667777 (calls from landlines are usually cheaper). Your destination numbers is +615551112222.
Solution: Both numbers +441112223333 and +445556667777 should be registered in Buzport account and marked “Active”. Mobile phone should be able to send text messages. To start a call send a text message from a mobile phone:

615551112222*445556667777

to Buzport SMS-center +447624803813
In few seconds your landline phone will start ringing, answer a call and wait for you destination to answer, enjoy the conversation. To end a call just hang up as usual.

Additional notes:

• This method of calling can cause additional costs for sending text messages. Buzport call rates do not include costs of sending SMS. Please check your mobile calling plan for SMS costs.
• Sending text messages is not 100% reliable. Sometimes a message can be lost. However this is a very rare case. Most of the time you will be connected within few seconds (typically in 5-20 seconds).
• To make the process easier, store the number of Buzport SMS-center +447624803813 in your phone’s address book.
